Domain Registration Pricing Setup

Use the Domain Pricing option present at Setup -> Services -> Third Party Service -> HostDeploy -> Domain Pricing to set the pricing for the HostDeploy domain registration services you will be reselling.

The "Domain Registration Pricing" table contains the cost price that HostDeploy charges for the registration of each domain extension and allows you to fill in the fee you will be charging your clients. The difference between the two is the profit you will make.

Domain registration pricing explained:

The Name field contains the domain extension whose pricing you can set - eg. co.za or .com.

The Cost fields (Setup Cost, Annual Cost and 24 Month Cost) indicate the cost price that HostDeploy charges for the registration of a domain. This is the reseller fee that you will pay HostDeploy for the services you resell.

  • Annual Cost - This is the reseller fee due to HostDeploy for registering a domain for 12 months.
  • 24 Month Cost - This is the reseller fee due to HostDeploy for registering a domain for 24 months.
  • Setup Cost - This is the reseller fee due for setting up the domain. You will notice that many of these fields contain 0.00. This is because HostDeploy does not charge a setup fee to resellers for some registrations. you are however welcome to set your own setup fees for these.

The Fee fields (Setup Fee, Annual fee, 24 Months Fee) are where you fill in the price you will charge to your clients. You can customise your pricing and charge your clients any amount you want to.

  • Annual Cost - This is the amount you will be charging your client to register a domain for 12 months.
  • 24 Month Cost - This is the amount you will be charging your client to register a domain for 24 months.
  • Setup Cost - This is the amount you will be charging your client to setup a domain registration. Even though HostDeploy charges 0.00 for this service with most domains, you can still charge you clients a fee for this.

The difference between the Cost field and the Fee field is how much profit you will be making from the sale of that service. eg. If host Deploy cost price for co.za regsitration is $10.00 with $0.00 setup cost and you set your fees to $15.00 for the registration and $5.00 for the setup fee your profit will be $10.00 when you resell this service to your client.

Once you have completed setting up your domain name pricing remember to click the "Save Changes" button. Your pricing is now set and will be shown on invoices containing the specific domain registration requested.

Important Notes:

  • HostDeploy does not charge a Setup Fee for some of its domain registrations and thus the Setup Cost for many domain registrations in nil. You may however choose to charge a once-off domain Setup Fee to your clients.
  • Please also note that some domain names only have a 24 month cost as the minimum period they may be registered for is 2 years. These domains require that you set a 24 Month Fee.
